Founder and President
A native of Frederick County, Marvin is a 1969 graduate of Thomas Johnson High School and, in 1974, received his bachelor’s degree in architecture from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
After working in the residential home building business with his father for a dozen years, Marvin took over the reins of the company and served in that capacity until selling the business to Drees Homes in 2003. Since that time, he has served as president of Ausherman Properties and devoted his energy and efforts to the family philanthropy endeavors, creating the Ausherman Family Trust in 2000 and the Ausherman Family Foundation in 2006.
Marvin has been involved for years in many Frederick County organizations and projects for the betterment of the community, having chaired the County’s Affordable Housing Council and serving on the boards of the Chamber of Commerce, the Community Foundation of Frederick County, YMCA, Federated Charities, and Habitat for Humanity, among others. He currently serves as chairman of the board of Blue Ridge Bank and sits on the board of Frederick Community College. He is also a member and Paul Harris Fellow of the Frederick Rotary Club.
